More Niagara....

Happy Birthday Gin!  We were so glad that we could help Gin celebrate her birthday.  We made her a card and gave her a wiffle ball and bat set that we picked up at the camp store.  We all acted like big kids and had an impromptu game of baseball!  We never had any rules and kept score but sure had tons of laughs!

Today was the day that we were going to explore the Niagara Gorge Discovery Center, the aquarium and the Niagara theatre.  The Niagara Gorge Discovery Center was just okay.  I guess seeing after seeing the Falls the day before, it just paled in comparison and rightfully so.  The aquarium was very, very crowded.
You had to carry a big bag of patience otherwise it wouldn’t be fun!

The sea lions outside were so cute to watch!  They are all rescues and, for various reasons, are unable to be released back into the wild.
This gal had such neat coloring!

Sleeping while swimming ;-)

Penguins are my daughter’s favorite animal so I had to get a few pictures for her…both real and fake!
Thumbs up for penguins!

Here's looking at you, Ash!

Funny kids!
We tried to view the penguin feeding but the crowds made that impossible!  We were lucky enough to get a seat for the sea lion show.  They were fascinating to watch.

So cute!

Balancing the ball!
It was a cute show that lasted about 20 minutes.    After we were done at the aquarium, we headed to the theater to watch the film about Niagara Falls.  It was about a 40 minute film and was interesting most of the time!  It had a blurb about the 63 year old school teacher that went over Niagara Falls in a barrel.  She took her kitten with her…we laughed because when the kitten went into the barrel, it was black.  After the barrel went over the falls, it was white.  I guess the film was low-budget!

That night, we celebrated Gin’s birthday with veggie burgers for dinner and  nutty buddy pie for dessert.  It was a recipe that I had gotten from one of her and Syl’s cookbooks and  I have made it several times.  Everyone who has it says it is really, really, good.   She asked for either that or an ice cream cake and there was not a ice cream store around.   So, nutty buddy pie it was!  We listened to retro 80s disco music and  played  “Spoons” for hours and hours at end.  There were a few minor injuries due to the competitive nature of the players.  ;-)  It was an awesome night with tons and tons of laughs.

Life is good!
